Celebrating 50 Years

The Faculty of Horticulture and Business in Rural Development of the University of Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Medicine Cluj-Napoca proudly celebrates 50 years of horticultural education, research and innovation.

The anniversary programme will take place on 21–22 September 2027 in Cluj-Napoca, Romania, bringing together academics, researchers, institutional partners, professionals, alumni and students to celebrate five decades of academic and scientific activity and to discuss current and future directions in Horticulture, Plant Sciences and related interdisciplinary fields.

International Jubilee Conference

As part of the anniversary programme, the Faculty will organize the international conference:

Advances in Plant Sciences and Horticultural Systems for Rural Development and Sustainability

The conference will welcome contributions covering Horticulture and Plant Sciences, Plant Breeding and Genetics, Sustainable Crop Production and Agroecology, Plant Biodiversity and Green Infrastructure, Postharvest Biology and Plant-Derived Food Quality, Rural Development and Plant-Based Value Chains, Land Management and Digital Technologies for Plant-Based Systems, as well as Environmental Sciences, Climate Change, Plant Physiology and Stress Biology.

NBHA Special Issues

To mark this anniversary, selected full manuscripts associated with accepted conference contributions may be submitted for consideration for publication in Notulae Botanicae Horti Agrobotanici Cluj-Napoca (NBHA) Special Issues.

In accordance with the aims, scope and indexing profile of Notulae Botanicae Horti Agrobotanici Cluj-Napoca, manuscripts considered for publication must provide a clear, substantial and demonstrable contribution to Plant Sciences. Interdisciplinary studies are welcome when the plant-science component represents a central and scientifically relevant part of the research.

All manuscripts submitted to NBHA will undergo the journal’s standard editorial screening and international peer-review process. Acceptance of an abstract for presentation at the conference does not imply acceptance of the corresponding full manuscript for publication.

Important Dates

  • 15 December 2026 – Abstract submission deadline
  • 15 April 2027 – NBHA manuscript submission deadline
  • 30 June 2027 – Payment deadline
  • 21–22 September 2027 – Jubilee and International Conference

Participants are also welcome to attend the separate International Symposium Life Sciences for Sustainable Development, held on 23–25 September 2027 at USAMV Cluj-Napoca.
